These policies are intended to be read in conjunction with applicable laws of India, including (as amended from time to time) the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, as well as any other sector-specific regulations that may apply. This text is for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for independent legal advice.

1. Role of Koovira

Koovira may facilitate cab or ride bookings by connecting riders with independent drivers or transport operators. Unless specifically stated for a particular service, Koovira does not own, control or operate the vehicles and acts as an online intermediary. The contractual relationship relating to transport services is between the rider and the driver/operator.

2. Driver Obligations

  • hold valid driving licences and permits as required by applicable motor vehicle laws and regulations;
  • ensure vehicles are roadworthy, properly insured and maintained;
  • conduct themselves professionally and respectfully towards riders;
  • comply with applicable traffic rules and safety requirements;
  • not engage in illegal or unsafe practices, including overcharging where fares are regulated.

3. Rider Obligations

  • provide accurate pickup and drop‑off points and be ready at the agreed time;
  • treat drivers and vehicles with respect and avoid causing damage or disruption;
  • comply with seat belt and other safety requirements applicable in the jurisdiction;
  • refrain from unlawful or abusive behaviour during rides.

Note: This Cab Booking / Driver Policy is a general template that clarifies Koovira's role as an intermediary and sets duties for drivers and riders. It should be supplemented by detailed aggregator-specific rules and reviewed by legal counsel familiar with local transport regulations.
