Hire & Work with Payment Confidence

Skills, projects and escrow

Hire or work with payment confidence.

India has massive freelance talent, but projects often fail because of unclear scope, delayed payments, fake clients, fake portfolios and no dispute trail.

Escrow is the product. The rest supports it.

You can browse open projects without an account. Posting, bidding and anything involving money needs a free Koovira account.

Browse open projects

The open project board with category filters, readable logged out.

See the work before you sign up for anything.

Post a project

Describe the work and receive proposals instead of chasing people.

The brief exists once, not in fifteen chats.

Post a project Needs an account

Submit a bid

Bid on a project, with a per-account bid quota that is logged and enforced.

Metered bidding keeps the board from filling with spam.

Find work Needs an account

Track and withdraw bids

Every bid you have made, with the option to pull one back.

Change your mind before you are committed.

My bids Needs an account

Shortlist and reject

Clients triage proposals in-platform — shortlist the ones worth talking to, reject the rest.

Triage where the work is, not in your inbox.

Needs an account

Offer and acceptance

The client sends a formal offer; the freelancer accepts or declines it.

Work starts on an explicit yes from both sides.

Needs an account

Milestone escrow

Split the project into milestones, fund each one before the work starts, and release it when the work is approved.

The money is provably there before you begin.

Needs an account

Whole-project escrow

For jobs that are not worth splitting up, the full amount is funded and released in one go.

Same protection, less admin.

Needs an account

Refund path

Escrow can be refunded as well as released — both milestone and full-project.

Funding money is not the same as losing it.

Needs an account

Dispute with a decider

Either side opens a dispute; a Koovira admin resolves it, and release is blocked while it is open.

Someone neutral can actually stop the money.

Needs an account

Two-way ratings

Clients rate freelancers and freelancers rate clients, on the record.

Bad clients are a real problem too.

Needs an account

Work solo or as a company

Operate as an individual, or as a company once your membership of it is validated.

An agency is not a person with a bigger profile.

Choose identity Needs an account

Invoices on settlement

Settlement writes an invoice row carrying the amount, the tax and the platform fee.

A payment record you can produce later.

Needs an account

The project, milestone and dispute screens for a company account live inside the Koovira merchant portal rather than the consumer site. Your bids and the open project board stay here.

Pricing

Free to join and bid. Paid only on money that moves.

Nothing is charged for creating an account, posting a project or submitting a bid. Charges apply at escrow settlement, and both the rate and who pays it are set by Koovira administration rather than fixed in code — so the mechanism is described here honestly instead of a number that could already be out of date.

Freelancer commission

Plan-baseddeducted from the freelancer's payout

A commission resolved from the freelancer's membership plan, taken out of what they receive.

  • Resolved from commission rules for the freelance module
  • Depends on the freelancer's membership plan
  • Deducted from the payout, not added to the client's bill
  • A free plan exists as the default

Rates are held in the database per plan. No rate is quoted on this page because none is fixed in code.

Every figure above is either a code default or an administrative setting. Where a rate is not fixed in code, this page says so rather than printing a number that could be wrong by the time you read it.

Questions

What clients and freelancers ask.

Do I need an account to look?

No. The open project board is readable logged out. Posting, bidding and anything involving money needs a free Koovira account.

Is the escrow real, or just a word?

It is real. Funds are placed into escrow against a milestone or the whole project, held, and then either released to the freelancer or refunded. There are separate implemented paths for fund, release and refund in both modes.

What stops a client releasing nothing after the work is done?

The dispute path. Either side can open a dispute, a Koovira admin resolves it, and while it is open the release is blocked.

What does it cost?

Nothing to post or bid. On settlement a platform fee applies — the code default is 2.5% — and whether it is added to the buyer or taken from the payout is set by Koovira administration. A separate commission based on the freelancer's membership plan comes out of the freelancer's payout.

Why does this page not print exact percentages everywhere?

Because they are administrative and plan settings held in the database, not constants in the code. Printing one here would eventually be a lie. The figure that binds is the one shown at checkout.

Can I bid as many times as I like?

No. Bids are quota-metered per account and the quota use is logged. This is what keeps the board from filling with copy-pasted proposals.

Can I work as a company rather than as myself?

Yes. You can operate as an individual or as a company, and your membership of that company is validated before you can act as it.

Where do the project and milestone screens live?

For a company account they open inside the Koovira merchant portal. Your bids and the open project board stay on the consumer site.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes. Settlement writes an invoice carrying the amount, the tax and the platform fee.

Can freelancers rate clients too?

Yes, ratings run both ways and are stored against the project.
