These policies are intended to be read in conjunction with applicable laws of India, including (as amended from time to time) the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, as well as any other sector-specific regulations that may apply. This text is for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for independent legal advice.

1. Scope of Matrimonial Services

Koovira's matrimonial features provide an introduction platform that enables individuals and families to create profiles, search for prospective matches and communicate for the limited purpose of exploring lawful marriage alliances in accordance with applicable Indian law. Koovira and TRISHARA VENTURES LLP do not act as a marriage bureau, guarantor, or agent for the ultimate formation of marriage.

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements

  • Only individuals who are of legal marriageable age under Indian law and relevant personal laws may create or be represented by matrimonial profiles. Profiles for minors are strictly prohibited.
  • Users must not misrepresent age or marital status. If we discover or reasonably suspect that a profile is for a minor or misrepresents marital status, we may suspend or terminate the account and, where appropriate, report to relevant authorities.

3. Prohibition of Dowry and Unlawful Demands

Any communication or listing that directly or indirectly promotes, demands or implies dowry or unlawful consideration is strictly prohibited. Koovira may remove such content and take strong action, including account suspension, wherever we believe dowry or unlawful demands are being sought or offered, and may cooperate with law-enforcement authorities as required by law.

4. Profile Accuracy and Responsibilities

  • Users must provide accurate, truthful and complete information about themselves or the prospective bride/groom, including but not limited to marital status, age, religion, caste, education, occupation and financial situation.
  • Koovira does not independently verify all details in matrimonial profiles, although we may conduct limited checks or seek supporting documents for certain elements (for example, identity or age verification) at our discretion.
  • Users are solely responsible for any misrepresentations they make and for any legal or social consequences arising therefrom.

5. Conduct During Interactions

All interactions via Koovira's matrimonial features, including chats, meetings and negotiations, should be conducted with respect and in compliance with applicable laws. Harassment, coercion, abusive language, threats or attempts to extort money or valuables are prohibited.

6. Role of Koovira and Due Diligence

Koovira acts only as an intermediary providing a platform for introductions and does not guarantee the suitability, character, background, intentions, financial status or compatibility of any individual or family. Parties using matrimonial services are expected to conduct their own independent due diligence, including but not limited to background checks, verification of information, and consultation with advisors, before proceeding with marriage discussions or commitments.

Note: This Matrimonial Policy is a general template that favours Koovira and TRISHARA VENTURES LLP by clarifying limited responsibility and strong user obligations. It should be reviewed and adapted by qualified legal counsel licensed in India to ensure alignment with applicable family and criminal laws.
