Privacy Policy

2.1 Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, store, and protect personal data when you use Koovira. It covers website/app usage, accounts, messaging, listings, orders, bookings, payments, and support.

2.2 Legal Basis and Applicable Law

We process personal data in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), and to the extent applicable, rules under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and SPDI Rules (2011).

2.3 Data We Collect

(a) Account Data

Name, phone number, email, password hashes, profile details, profile photos, user type, and preferences.

(b) Verification / KYC Data (where enabled)

Government ID images, business registration documents, address proofs, selfies, verification metadata, and status.

(c) Transaction Data

Orders, bookings, payment identifiers, wallet ledger entries, refunds, settlement and payout metadata (as applicable).

(d) Usage and Device Data

IP address, device identifiers, browser details, session IDs, log files, timestamps, and activity patterns.

(e) Communications

Chat messages and attachments (subject to moderation), support tickets, emails, SMS/WhatsApp delivery logs.

(f) Location Data (optional)

If you permit, approximate or precise location for local discovery, cab, delivery, and nearby listings.

2.4 How We Use Data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide and operate modules (social feed, chat, listings, orders, bookings).
  • Authenticate users (OTP, sessions, security checks).
  • Process payments and refunds through gateways.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations (trust & safety).
  • Personalise content, recommendations, and notifications.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

2.5 Sharing of Data

We may share data with:

  • Payment gateways and banking/financial partners for processing payments/refunds (as applicable).
  • Logistics/courier partners for delivery tracking and fulfilment.
  • Cab/hotel/merchant/service providers to fulfil bookings or orders.
  • Cloud hosting, analytics, email/SMS vendors (as processors).
  • Law enforcement or government agencies where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data as a business model unless expressly disclosed and consented.

2.6 Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described or required by law. Certain records (invoices, transactions, KYC logs) may be retained for statutory periods.

2.7 Security Safeguards

We implement technical and organisational measures such as access controls, encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure cookies (where applicable), and logging/monitoring. No system is 100% secure; you must also protect your credentials and devices.

2.9 Children

Koovira is not intended for children. Dating and matrimonial modules are strictly 18+. If we discover child data, we may delete it and suspend accounts.

2.10 Cross-Border Processing

Your data may be processed on servers located in India or other countries depending on hosting and vendors. We will implement reasonable safeguards as required by applicable law.

2.11 Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
